Sonlight P4 - Week 26 & Saxon

The Developmental Activity assigned for today was "Drip-Drop".  This is one that I knew would definitely be good for Munchkin and Ditto. So, I set the boys up outside:
ice cube trays, 3 different-sized droppers, and cups with water
They both loved this. This was definitely more practice for Ditto at learning how to squeeze, suck-up, and release.  Munchkin played more with measurements and seeing just how close he could get to the top of each section of the ice cube tray.

Munchkin worked on his workbook (we are way behind according to the schedule because he loathed the workbooks for a while...today, however, he announced this was his favorite part of "sit-down school" right now). We are actually on Week 22 in our workbook.

He also did Lesson 99 in our Saxon K book.

We only did one lesson and didn't even finish it because Ditto woke up early from his nap and then was very needy.  Munchkin just couldn't focus.

In the evening, my husband worked with the boys on their Art lesson (he always does the art and I am so thankful. He has a passion for and knowledge about art that I do not have).  Tonight they learned about shapes.  One of the pieces of art was by Michelangelo.  So, among the amazing stories my husband tells and extremely interesting ways he dissects the art for the Munchkin (with Ditto listening in), my husband also decided to teach them a little more about Michelangelo.  So, he talked about the Sistine Chapel and had the boys do this on our ceiling:

Very short school day which is very unusual for us.  But that's okay...every once in a while.
